Company and history
aDigi's story begins in 1991, when entrepreneur Pasi Puhakka founded a printing company in the midst of Finland's early-1990s recession. Today, aDigi is one of Helsinki's longest-running digital print houses.
Background since 1991
Pasi Puhakka grew up in the printing industry across three generations – his parents owned a traditional offset print shop in Espoo. When the early-1990s recession cost him his job, Puhakka bought his former employer's production equipment and founded his own company, ZX Repro Oy, in 1991.
From ZX Repro to a digital print house
In the early years, printing was done using traditional offset technology, where producing a single colour print could take hours. As digital technology became more common, the company's name changed from ZX Repro to aDigi, and over the following decades the business evolved into fast, agile digital printing.
aDigi today
Today aDigi operates in Hakaniemi, Helsinki, on Saariniemenkatu, and employs six people. The company has remained Finnish-owned and independent for over 35 years – without dedicated marketing, relying instead on recommendations from satisfied customers. The number of printing companies has declined significantly over the decades, but aDigi has stayed competitive by adapting. The same things have been at the core of the business from the start: fast delivery times, clear pricing and personal customer service.
