Frequently asked questions about saddle-stitched magazines
Which size should I choose?
A4 works well for larger publications and reports, A5 is a popular all-round size for programmes and guides, and A6 is ideal for small pocket-sized booklets. B5 and B6 offer a more book-like feel, while the 210 × 210 mm square format is especially suitable for visual brochures.
Why must the page count be divisible by four?
In saddle stitching, printed sheets are folded and stapled in the middle. One folded sheet creates four pages, so the total page count should be 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 pages and so on. Blank pages can be added if needed.
How should I deliver the artwork?
Deliver the artwork as a print-ready PDF file. We recommend 2 mm bleed, CMYK colours and high-resolution images. We check the file before printing and contact you if we notice a clear issue.
What does saddle stitching mean?
Saddle stitching means that the printed sheets are folded and stapled through the centre fold. The result is a light, clean and easy-to-browse publication.
