Frequently asked questions
How many cards are in a tarot deck?
A traditional tarot deck contains 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana cards and 56 Minor Arcana cards. You can also create a tarot, oracle or affirmation deck with your own number of cards.
What is the difference between tarot and oracle cards?
A tarot deck usually follows the traditional 78-card structure. Oracle cards are more flexible, so the number of cards, themes, names and method of use can be designed freely.
Can every card have a different image?
Yes. Each card can have its own front illustration, title and text. The back is usually identical on every card, but different back designs are also possible.
Can I order a small test run of tarot cards?
Yes. Digital printing is well suited to prototypes and small print runs. A test set allows you to check the card size, colour reproduction, text readability and the overall feel of the deck before placing a larger order.
Can I order a guidebook with the cards?
Yes. A separate guidebook explaining the meanings and use of the cards can be printed for a tarot or oracle deck. The guidebook is priced separately according to its size, page count and print quantity.
Why must important elements be kept away from the edges?
The cards are trimmed and their corners are rounded during production. A sufficient safe area prevents text, borders and important illustration details from ending up too close to the trimmed edge.
Does the artwork need to be supplied in CMYK?
Not necessarily. Leave the artwork in the colour space in which it was created. If the illustrations were created in RGB, it is usually best not to convert them to CMYK before submission.
Can you help with the tarot card artwork?
Yes. We check the print files before production. We can also help with file corrections, card layout and other technical adjustments for an additional fee.
How quickly can tarot cards be produced?
Production time depends on the number of cards, the number of decks and the condition of the artwork. The estimated production time is shown in the online shop or confirmed when the order is placed.
