Canva PDF to print

You should send a PDF from Canvas for printing, not a screenshot. The most important thing is the right size, PDF printing and the included cutting material.

Steps in brief

  1. Open the design in Canvas and check the size.
  2. Select Share or Download.
  3. Select PDF Print as the file type.
  4. Add crop marks and bleed only when the background that reaches the edge needs bleed.
  5. Download the PDF and open it separately before ordering.

Make the plan the right size

Select the size before planning. If you change the size only at the end, texts, images and borders may move incorrectly.

Download PDF for printing

Select PDF printing when downloading. If the plan has a background that reaches the edge, include allowances for cutting.

Open the finished PDF

Check the downloaded PDF separately. See the size, edges, sharpness of texts and images before ordering.

Example: Canva export

Frequently asked questions

Which PDF setting should you choose from Canvas?

Select PDF Print. It is better for printing than PNG, JPG or screenshot.

Do I have to take crop marks with me?

Only if the product has a background or image that reaches the edge and you need room for cutting.

Can I send a PNG?

PDF is more secure. The PNG may be the wrong size or too soft for the print.
