  • Brochures and price lists – services and offers

The covers and inner pages are chosen separately, so the booklet gets just the right feel. Materials are selected when placing your order.

Typical papers

170 g
Covers

A sturdy cover protects the booklet and gives a high-quality first impression.

100–130 g
Inner pages

Clear readability and good colour reproduction for the inner pages.

120 g
Recycled paper (option)

For a publication that emphasises environmental values.

Page count divisible by four: a saddle-stitched booklet must always have a page count divisible by four (8, 12, 16, 20, 24, etc.). If needed, blank pages are added so the count works out.

An association member magazine – often VAT-free

The sale of the print run of a non-profit association's member magazine can be VAT-free (Finnish VAT Act, section 56). In practice this means no VAT is added to the printing invoice when the conditions are met.

Conditions

  • Published at least 4 times a year
  • The publisher is a non-profit community (as defined by the Tax Administration)
  • Mainly for members or members of member communities
  • Not a business activity – the magazine is not published as a trade
Note: the exemption applies to the printing of the magazine, not to layout or content production. The exemption isn't applied automatically – please mention it when ordering so we can account for it in the invoicing.

Note: we don't provide tax advice. This is general information – check your own association's situation with the Tax Administration or your accountant.

Who is the magazine for?

A compact A5 booklet serves both event distribution and regular communication.

  • Event organisers and cultural operators
  • Associations, clubs and organisations
  • Companies and organisations
  • Schools and training organisations
  • Parishes and the public sector
Tip: A5 is handy to hand out at events – it fits a pocket and a bag, so it travels along and actually gets read.

Print file

Deliver your artwork as a print-ready PDF. We check every file personally before printing.

How to deliver the artwork:

Recommended Deliver the artwork as one PDF with all pages as single pages in the correct order – not as spreads. For example, a 16-page booklet = a 16-page PDF.

  • File format: print-ready PDF, all pages as single pages
  • Finished size: A5 (148 × 210 mm)
  • Page count: divisible by four (8, 12, 16, 20…)
  • Bleed: 3 mm on every edge
  • Safe area: 3 mm in from the trim line
  • Resolution: 300 dpi
  • Colour space: CMYK recommended (RGB also fine)
Tip: place the pages in the PDF in final reading order, from front cover to back cover, so the booklet assembles correctly.

Frequently asked questions

What is an A5 booklet best for?

A5 is ideal for programme booklets, event booklets, guides and instruction catalogues – whenever you have more content than fits a leaflet, but a compact size is handier to distribute than A4.

Is an association member magazine VAT-free?

It can be. The sale of the print run of a non-profit association's member magazine is VAT-free (VAT Act section 56) when the magazine is published at least four times a year, mainly for members, and not as a business activity. Mention the exemption when ordering. This is not tax advice – check your situation with the Tax Administration.

Why must the page count be divisible by four?

In a saddle-stitched booklet, a sheet is folded and stapled in the middle, so one sheet produces four pages. That's why the total page count must be divisible by four. We add blank pages if needed.

Should I deliver the artwork as single pages or spreads?

Deliver the artwork as single pages, not spreads – preferably as one PDF with all pages in the correct reading order. For example, a 16-page booklet is a 16-page PDF.

How fast will I get the booklets?

Delivery time depends on the page count and print run. Many booklets are ready in a few business days, faster when urgent – we'll give you a schedule when we check the artwork.
